Additional Frost Advisories & Freeze Warnings have been hoisted for areas west of the Blue Ridge by the National Weather Service (NWS). While this doesn’t include the immediate DC Metro area, things are getting closer…and it’s still summer.
Per the NWS, “Dry conditions are expected tonight. Temperatures may be a degree or two cooler compared to last night.” For the areas under the frost advisory and freeze warning (map below) “temperatures as low as 33 will result in frost formation in portions of western Maryland, northwest and western Virginia, and eastern and panhandle West Virginia. From 2 AM to 9 AM EDT Monday.Frost could harm sensitive outdoor vegetation. Sensitive outdoor plants may be killed if left uncovered.”
For us, we will see temperatures reach the upper 70s on Monday and then highs back into the low to mid 80s for the rest of the week. Rain isn’t really expected, so it should be a pleasant week either way the warmest day likely being Wednesday (high of 84° and will feel closer to 90°).
