Metro: Red Line Operating in Two Segments with Bus Bridge This Weekend

This weekend, the Red Line will operate in two segments as crews work on tracks between Grosvenor-Strathmore and Medical Center.

Per WMATA: Free shuttle buses will replace train service between Medical Center and Grosvenor on Saturday and Sunday. The Red Line will have the following service:

  • Trains between Shady Grove and Grosvenor-Strathmore very 6 minutes during the day and every 10 minutes after 9:30 p.m.
  • A free shuttle bus bridge between Grosvenor-Strathmore and Medical Center
  • Trains between Medical Center to Glenmont every 8 minutes during the day and every 10 minutes after 9:30 p.m.
Metro crews will renew rail fasteners and conduct third rail maintenance, repair grouts, and remove old material. All other lines will have normal service.
