- Kanpai Southeast Asian BBQ and Shabu Shabu Buffet is almost ready to join the recently-opened Kajiken and Okaeri at the Shops at Congressional Village shopping center in Rockville. Kanpai, which offers Southeast Asian BBQ at your table and Shabu Shabu buffet, is coming soon to the Shops at Congressional Village shopping center in Rockville. With Shabu Shabu, you’ll be given plates of meat, vegetables and other items (dumplings and udon, for example) to cook in the broth rather than a pre-loaded broth.

The IVEA restaurant group (who owns local restaurants like Gyuzo BBQ, Gong Cha, The Spot, Kyoto Matcha, Lao Sze Chuan, and more) and Chicago-based Windfall Group LLC bought the Shops at Congressional Village shopping center in an auction in 2022 for $44 million.
