The City of Gaithersburg’s Department of Public Works will be conducting road construction work on all of Kentlands Blvd., all of Booth St., Main St. from Kentlands Blvd. to Midtown Rd., and asphalt repairs on Tschiffely Square Rd. Work consists of asphalt milling, resurfacing, and striping. The work is anticipated to begin on Monday, September 16, 2024, and will continue through October, weather permitting. See map here.
On-street parking will be restricted at various times. “No Parking” signs will be posted at least 48 hours in advance of construction activity. These signs will be marked with the dates and times of the parking restrictions.
The majority of work will take place on weekdays between 7 a.m. and 5 p.m. and will be performed by contractors under the direction of the Department of Public Works. During these hours you can expect minor delays at various times while work is in progress.
Access to all roadways will remain open the majority of the time. The need for temporary-short term road closures may be required. Additional notice will be provided to those impacted by these closures as the work progresses.
