Pitango has closed its Bethesda location at 4901 Fairborn Ave. after nearly 4.5 years of operating in the space. The gelato and coffee spot took over the location that was home to Tapa Bar and Blackfinn in the past, opening in May of 2020.
Pitango recently placed a note stating the following on its door: “Bye, Bye Bethesda. We are saddened to announce that our lease has ended at Pitango, Bethesda. Friday, 9/20 will be our last day of service– please come and say goodbye. To our loyal Bethesda fans, we thank you for so many wonderful years. We will miss you all so much!”
There are an additional six Pitango locations across DC and Virginia with one Maryland location in Baltimore. We have been told they will all continue to operate normally.
