Torchy’s Tacos, known for their “Damn Good Tacos,” will hold the grand opening of its first DMV location (12266 Rockville Pike, Rockville) on Wednesday, October 2nd at 10am. The first 100 people in line will receive a keychain that lets them get free queso for a year one. We had a chance to stop by during the restaurant’s soft opening to provide you with a first look (video and photos below).

Torchy’s Tacos features “the most unique tacos, coveted queso and refreshing margaritas in the game, and the rotating Taco of the Month.” With more than 115 locations across 14 states, Torchy’s Tacos serves tacos, sides, and drinks from scratch, made-to-order.
“I grew up in the DC area, left on a winding journey to become a chef and open my own restaurant. To be honest, when I left, I didn’t know how things would turn out. Now, I get to bring Torchy’s Tacos award-winning queso and Damn Good tacos to Rockville!” says Mike Rypka, CEO and Founder of Torchy’s Tacos, “To open a restaurant and share my food with the DC area is like a dream come true. There’s a little something about coming home again and showing what you have done and what you can do.”
