Montgomery County Fire and Rescue Services (MCFRS) responded to the 10900 block of Deborah Dr. in Potomac on Monday afternoon for a reported house fire.
According to MCFRS Chief Spokesperson Pete Piringer, the fire was caused by an electrical outlet inside a kitchen cupboard. A smoke alarm in a bedroom was chirping due to a low battery, but no other alarms were operational.
The fire resulted in $100,000 in structural damage and $50,000 in content loss. One adult and two children were displaced, but no injuries were reported.
