Update: According to Montgomery County Police, “The investigation has revealed that a vehicle collided with a wooden light pole. A 17-year-old female sustained life-threatening injuries and was pronounced dead at the scene. Two 17-year-old occupants, a male and a female, have been transported to an area hospital in critical condition.”
Montgomery County Fire and Rescue Services (MCFRS) responded to a collision involving a vehicle into a poll on Norwood Rd, between Quaker Lane and Ashton Forest Way, in Sandy Spring on Wednesday.
According to Chief Spokesperson for MCFRS Pete Piringer, the collision resulted in multiple injuries, including two trauma patients. Emergency crews are on the scene, with some lanes blocked, as one person remains trapped and others have been extricated.
Montgomery County Police tweeted the following at 8:12am: “Traffic Advisory: A single-vehicle collision has the intersection of Norwood Road and Nesbitt Farm Lane shut down. Drivers are advised to seek an alternate route.”
