The following is a brief summary of events regarding a fatal Gaithersburg collision that occurred on Friday night in the area of Great Seneca Highway and Kentlands Blvd.
“Preliminarily, at approximately 9:17 p.m., Gaithersburg and Montgomery County Police 6th district officers responded to the area of Great Seneca Hwy and Kentlands Blvd. An adult female was located in the roadway.
Montgomery County Fire Rescue responded and provided medical assistance. The female victim was pronounced dead at the scene. The driver of the striking vehicle remained at the location and is cooperating with investigators. There is currently a road closure at north and southbound Great Seneca Hwy at Quince Orchard Blvd and north and southbound Great Seneca at [Lakelands Dr].
A news release will be distributed once more information becomes available, including the name of the deceased, following proper notification of next of kin.”
