Local satire website, the Montgonion, has struck again. With pictures of “Montgomery Donuts Coming Back Soon” signs floating across area Facebook groups, we can confirm that Montgomery Donuts is not making a return.
Last month, we cleared up any potential rumors a “Coming Soon Galleria at Glenmont” sign may have caused after signage was put up containing a QR code that took you to the satirical article by The Montgonion. This week, in addition to the chatter in local Facebook groups, we’ve received several messages informing us of the return of Montgomery Donuts. Unfortunately for donut lovers across the county, this one is also just a prank.
Accompanied again by an article in The Patch, the QR code on the coming soon signs lead you to another satirical article by The Montgonion. So for those who were expecting a return, we are sorry to disappoint you. We did catch up with Patrick Mayo, the grandson of the original owners earlier this year to give you “Everything You Need to Know About Montgomery Donuts; Including Today’s Most Similar Donuts”
