Man Charged with Manslaughter in Fatal Collision Involving 77-Year-Old Woman

A Lynchburg, VA man has been charged with criminally negligent manslaughter and speeding in connection to a fatal March 2024 collision in Silver Spring, involving a 77-year-old woman, with sentencing scheduled for December 9, 2024.

According to MCPD, “36-year-old Vincent Anderson, Jr., has been charged with criminally negligent manslaughter and failure to control speed to avoid a collision. The charges come after a collision on Monday, March 11, 2024.

The two-vehicle collision involved a red 2013 Subaru Outback, driven by 77-year-old Maria Antonieta Perdomo of Silver Spring, and a 2019 black Tesla Model Y, driven by Anderson.

According to a report by the Montgomery County Department of Police – Collision Reconstruction Unit, the Subaru was making a left turn from northbound Layhill Road to continue west of Bel Pre Road. The Tesla was headed southbound on Layhill Road and collided with the Subaru in the intersection.

The investigation concluded that Anderson was traveling at 77 MPH when he made impact with Perdomo’s vehicle. Anderson was charged on Friday, September 27, and accepted a plea agreement on Friday, October 4. Sentencing is scheduled for December 9, 2024.”
