City of Gaithersburg Presented With $1 Million in Federal Funding For Russell Avenue Multimodal and Streetscape Improvements Project

The City of Gaithersburg announced on Monday morning that Congressman David Trone presented the City with $1,000,000 in federal funding for the Russell Avenue Multimodal and Streetscape Improvements project.

According to the City of Gaithersburg, “These funds will help transform Russell Avenue to better connect Olde Towne Gaithersburg with the Lakeforest District, accommodate a future Flash Bus Rapid Transit Route,  and create a park boulevard to spur economic growth between Odendhal and Montgomery Village Avenues.

The project is currently about 60% through the design phase and is on track for completion in April 2025. Construction will begin in June 2025, with the full transformation expected to be complete by late 2026.” Courtesy City of Gaithersburg
