Celebrate Maryland Emancipation Day With Events at Four Cultural Sites

On Saturday, November 2, 2024, Montgomery Parks is commemorating the 160th Maryland Emancipation Day (November 4) with events at four of cultural sites:

Josiah Henson Museum and Park will feature hands-on activities, lawn games, and self-guided tours of the museum, with museum admission ($5, adults; $4, seniors and children (6-17); free, children ages 6 and under).

Oakley Cabin African American Museum and Park and Thomas Harper Cabin will offer free guided cabin tours.

Woodlawn Manor Cultural Park features special double offerings of the Underground Railroad Experience Trail Guided Hike at 10 a.m. and 1 p.m. (at extra cost) and free admission to the Woodlawn Museum.
