On Saturday, November 2, 2024, Montgomery Parks is commemorating the 160th Maryland Emancipation Day (November 4) with events at four of cultural sites:
• Josiah Henson Museum and Park will feature hands-on activities, lawn games, and self-guided tours of the museum, with museum admission ($5, adults; $4, seniors and children (6-17); free, children ages 6 and under).
• Oakley Cabin African American Museum and Park and Thomas Harper Cabin will offer free guided cabin tours.
• Woodlawn Manor Cultural Park features special double offerings of the Underground Railroad Experience Trail Guided Hike at 10 a.m. and 1 p.m. (at extra cost) and free admission to the Woodlawn Museum.
