According to District 3 Montgomery County Police Department (MCPD) Commander Jason Cokinos, a driver crashed into his police vehicle during a traffic stop overnight (photos below).👇
Cokinos was not in the vehicle during the crash, which occurred on I-270 at the I-495 split shortly after midnight on Saturday morning. The crash occurred soon after Cokinos pulled over a speeding driver who he says was going 110mph. Nobody was seriously hurt in the crash.
Per Cokinos on Twitter/X, “When you see police vehicles 🚔, emergency vehicles 🚒, tow trucks, etc. on the side of the road… MOVE OVER!!!! Crashing into a police car (happened to be my actual car) on a traffic stop is not cool….
Luckily no one was seriously hurt and I happened to be out of my vehicle dealing with the guy I stopped for going 110MPH. Location: I-270 @ I-495”
