Crews Have Been Working on Fire in The Woods Since 3:30am

Montgomery County Fire and Rescue Services (MCFRS) responded to Haddonfield Way, off Rt. 28 in Darnestown, for an outside fire involving brush/woods, ~200 yards from a house at approximately 3:30am Sunday morning (units are still working as of 10am).

The slow burning fire involving leaves/brush spread to approximately one acre. The fire has been contained, but crews have been working on hot spots throughout the morning. At 7:49am, MCFRS Chief Spokesperson Pete Piringer stated that “fresh relief crews are monitoring the fire from over night, dousing hot spots.”
