Approximately 75 Firefighters Respond to Fire That Destroyed Home Overnight

Montgomery County Fire and Rescue Services (MCFRS) responded to a fire in a non-hydrant area on the 21000 block of Peachtree Rd. in Dickerson around 2:30am early Monday morning.

According to MCFRS Chief Spokesperson Pete Piringer, MCFRS was notified by a 911 call from the residence and an alarm notification simultaneously and crews arrived to a heavy fire upon arrival with the fire spreading to vehicles in the driveway.

Approximately 75 firefighters responded to the call, and the house was “totally destroyed by the fire.” Three adults and three children were able to get out without injury and thousands of gallons of water have been shuttled in overnight to fight the fire. The cause of the fire is still under investigation and Peachtree Road CLOSED between Barnesville Road and Sellman Rd. Photo courtesy MCFRS.
