Sodexo Announces Future Acquisition of Large Mid-Atlantic Catering Company

Sodexo, headquartered in North Bethesda’s Pike & Rose (previously Gaithersburg), has announced its acquisition of CRH Catering, one of the largest independent operators in the Mid-Atlantic region.

The move aims to enhance Sodexo’s food model transformation and expand its InReach services within the rapidly growing $30 billion U.S. convenience market. By integrating CRH Catering into its operations, Sodexo is solidifying its presence on the East Coast and expanding its multi-channel offerings. These include additional micro-markets, vending services, office coffee solutions, pantry options, fresh food provisions, and on-site food services. The acquisition will also leverage CRH Catering’s commissary to create synergies between offsite production and convenience services, helping Sodexo aim for $500 million in InReach revenue by the end of 2025.

This acquisition is part of Sodexo’s broader strategy to adapt its food distribution models to meet evolving consumer preferences, particularly in the hybrid work environment, which increasingly favors grab-and-go fresh foods and healthier snack options. Notably, this marks Sodexo’s seventh acquisition in the convenience services sector since 2022.

Founded in 1967, CRH Catering is a family-owned business known for its commitment to service excellence and client-focused solutions, serving clients across Pennsylvania, Maryland, Virginia, West Virginia, New Jersey, and North Carolina. The acquisition is anticipated to close in the first half of Fiscal 2025.
