Tomorrow’s graphic designers will find everything they need to grow as an artist and professional at Salisbury University at The Universities at Shady Grove (USG).
SU’s graphic design program teaches students how to turn their passion for art into a profession. The transfer program allows students to earn their associate degree and transfer to SU to earn their Bachelor of Fine Arts in art with a graphic design track.
Situated in a convenient location, the USG campus provides students with a supportive and nurturing learning environment where they can thrive. With small classes and dedicated studio space, students receive personalized attention from faculty mentors who get to know them personally and want to help them achieve their creative goals.
The program is designed to ignite students’ creative spark and lay a solid foundation for a fulfilling creative career. With both in-person classes at USG and interactive online courses, students can conveniently access top-notch instruction. USG’s brand-new, fully equipped studio provides a conducive environment for honing artistic skills, while welcoming students into a creative community that inspires them to grow. The program regularly organizes on-campus exhibitions, as well as trips to museums and galleries in Baltimore, Philadelphia, New York City and Washington, D.C.
Students also have the opportunity to gain hands-on experience as working designers before they graduate through internships with local and regional businesses, including in metropolitan hubs such as Baltimore and Washington, D.C. Upon graduation, students are
prepared with a diverse academic background and real-world experience to succeed in the competitive field of graphic design.
According to program faculty, graphic designers not only create beautiful visuals, they also are problem solvers, storytellers and innovators who shape how people communicate. In today’s digital world, graphic design powerfully influences experiences, so it’s no surprise that the demand for skilled creatives has never been higher. USG provides several scholarships and on-site services to make the program more affordable. The institution also fosters strong connections between its students and local companies, creating numerous job opportunities in this ever-expanding field.
