Winter Storm Warning Remains in Effect for Portion of Maryland, Light Snow Possible Closer to Home

The National Weather Service (NWS) has stated that a Winter Storm Warning remains in effect along and west of the Alleghenies through Friday PM/Saturday AM. First flakes of the season are possible on Friday, as light snow could fall in the morning.

The worst conditions will be with the heavy snow Friday (Alleghenies). Conditions will be hazardous with visibilities dropping to 1/4 mile at times. Travel could be difficult to impossible, according to the NWS.

Closer to home, rain and/or snow showers likely before noon on Friday, then rain showers. The high will be near 42°. Little or no snow accumulation expected with a “high end amount” up to an inch (10% chance) in upper Montgomery County, Upper Howard County, Frederick County, Carroll County and other surrounding areas.
