Metro Service Information for Thanksgiving Day, Thursday, November 28

On Thanksgiving Day, Thursday, November. 28, Metrorail will open at 7 a.m. and close at midnight, operating on a reduced Sunday schedule at all stations. Metrobus will also operate on a Sunday schedule. MetroAccess customers may make a reservation to travel on the holiday; however, subscription trips will be canceled.

Per WMATA: Metro offers convenient and cost-effective access to airports and train travel with service to Ronald Reagan Washington National Airport on the Blue and Yellow lines, Washington Dulles International Airport on the Silver Line, and connections to Amtrak via the Red Line at Union Station and Rockville, the Orange Line at New Carrollton, and the Blue Line at King St-Old Town. Service information for Thursday, November 28:

Metrorail:

  • Red Line: Trains every 10 minutes all day.
  • Blue Line: Trains every 15 minutes all day.
  • Silver Line: Trains every 15 minutes all day.
  • Orange LineTrains every 15 minutes all day.
  • Yellow Line: Trains every 8 minutes all day.
  • Green Line: Trains every 8 minutes all day.

When planning travel, customers are encouraged to check wmata.com/stations for first and last train information. Visit wmata.com/weekend for service information all weekend long. Parking will be free at all Metro-owned parking lots and garages on Thanksgiving.

Metrobus: Buses will operate on a Sunday schedule.   Service varies by route, check timetables for details.  

MetroAccess:

  • All subscription trips will be canceled on Thursday. 
  • Customers wishing to travel on the holiday should make a separate reservation online or by calling 301-562-5360 (TTY 301-588-7535).
