The Rockville Swim and Fitness Center, located at 355 Martins Lane, closed on August 16th to undergo a significant renovation and reconfiguration of its outdoor recreation pool. The project is moving along with major progress made recently, according to an update by the City of Rockville.
The renovation is aimed at enhancing accessibility, modernizing amenities, and upgrading infrastructure to introduce new recreational features for swimmers of all ages and abilities. Recent developments in the project include pouring concrete for the walls of the wellness pool and a section of the activity pool’s floor, alongside essential work on the piping layout and repairs to the mechanical room. These updates represent a crucial step forward in the comprehensive renovation effort.
The construction project is expected to continue through spring 2025 (May 2025), with the goal of providing an improved and inclusive environment for all visitors. Once completed, the revamped outdoor pool area will not only offer enhanced recreational opportunities but also ensure that facilities cater to the diverse needs of the community.
As the renovation progresses, the Rockville Swim and Fitness Center looks forward to welcoming swimmers back to a more modern and accessible outdoor recreation space that encourages health, fitness, and enjoyment for everyone.
