Antoine Randall, 20, of Boyds, was sentenced to eight years in prison and five years of supervised probation for gross negligent manslaughter and other charges stemming from a 2023 police pursuit in Wheaton that resulted in a fatal crash.

According to the Montgomery County State’s Attorney’s Office, “In the Circuit Court for Montgomery County, MD, the Honorable Harry Storm sentenced defendant, Antoine Randall, 20, of Boyds, to 20 years in prison suspending all but eight years to serve and five years of supervised probation upon release. The sentencing hearing was held Wednesday, December 4, 2024.

Randall pleaded guilty on September 20, 2024, to charges of gross negligent manslaughter by motor vehicle, fleeing and eluding marked police vehicle by failing to stop resulting in death, and failure to return or remain at the scene of an accident.

The charges were filed as a result of an investigation following a crash on December 13, 2023. Officers from the Montgomery County Police Department attempted to stop a white 2016 Nissan Maxima in the area of Bucknell Drive and Cambridge Park Court in Wheaton. The Nissan, driven by Randall, failed to stop, striking a police vehicle in the process. A pursuit was initiated by Montgomery County Police. Approximately 1.7 miles into the pursuit, the fleeing Nissan lost control while northbound on Maryland Route 97 (Georgia Avenue) at Henderson Avenue. The Nissan struck a median, became airborne and then struck two vehicles in the opposing traffic lanes, a light blue 2006 Toyota Corolla and 2016 Honda Pilot. The drivers of the Toyota and Honda sustained non-life-threatening injuries. The front seat passenger of the Nissan, a juvenile male, was pronounced dead on the scene.

Assistant State’s Attorney Joshua Wesnidge prosecuted this matter.”
