Punta Cana Tropical Grill, a new Dominican restaurant at 9324 Georgia Ave in Silver Spring, is now open. The restaurant is located in the space that was previously home to Tropics Ice Cream & Jerk and our very own Mr. MoCo stopped by this weekend to support and provide a first look (video below).
“As soon as I saw the post about it closing, I went for it!! It’s a busy road I know people will stop here to try it out. Silver Spring has unique diverse community with appetite for Dominican dishes.” The owner tells us. “I understand how hard it is to stop for food and get good food so I came out with the idea to put a fast food Dominican carryout.” The restaurant is opening in the owner’s hometown of Silver Spring. “Our fast food concept will be a hit!”
The fast-casual restaurant has approximately 15 seats and offers signature bowls or create-your-own in an assembly line format. The menu also consists of chicken from the “Tropical Grill Menu”, Mofongo (mashed green plantains with white garlic sauce or tomato sauce served with your choice of meat, and other items on their “Plato Fuerte” menu which includes sandwiches, fried fish, and more.
