A $1 million-winning Mega Millions ticket sold at a Wawa in Bel Air, MD remains unclaimed as of Monday, December 16.
According to the Maryland Lottery, the ticket was for the December 10 drawing and the winning numbers were 12, 14, 26, 48 and 52 with a Mega Ball of 21. For selling the winning ticket, the Wawa at 709 Belair Road will receive a $2,500 Lottery bonus.
Per MD Lottery: “As the Mega Millions jackpot ballooned to nearly three quarters of a billion dollars, a second-tier winning ticket sold last week made a Maryland Lottery player in Bel Air a millionaire. Meanwhile, a scratch-off player in Reisterstown won a $200,000 prize, and a ticket purchased in Waldorf generated a $100,000 win.
The $1 million Bel Air prize remained unclaimed as of Dec. 16 — the winner has 182 days from the Dec. 10 drawing date to redeem the ticket. The last Mega Millions jackpot ($810 million) was hit Sept. 10 in Texas. During the current jackpot roll, there has been one other second-tier $1 million winner in Maryland (Anne Arundel County), and six third-tier winners have claimed prizes of $40,000 (Prince George’s County), $20,000 (Baltimore County), and $10,000 (Harford, Montgomery, Prince George’s and Wicomico counties).
The next Mega Millions drawing is Dec. 17 and the estimated jackpot is $740 million with a cash option of $342.9 million. If the jackpot is hit at $740 million, it would be the eighth-largest in Mega Millions history.”
