Detectives from the Montgomery County Police Department (MCPD)– Collision Reconstruction Unit (CRU) are investigating a fatal collision that occurred on Sunday, November 10, 2024, in the area of Rockville Pike and Marinelli Drive in North Bethesda.
According to a December 17th MCPD press release: “The investigation has revealed that a pedestrian was crossing the street at the location when he was struck by a 2012 Hyundai Sonata.
The pedestrian was transported to an area hospital where he died as a result of his injuries on Tuesday, December 3. The decedent has been identified as 50-year-old Derrick Lamarr Fields, of Baltimore. This is an active and ongoing investigation, and CRU detectives are asking for anyone who may have witnessed this collision to call (240) 773-6620.”
