Brazilian Steakhouse, Japanese Wagyu House, Afghan Cuisine and More to Join Wegmans in 2025

Twinbrook Quarter (1500-1616 Rockville Pike) is a 12-story mixed-use office, retail, and residential tower that sits atop a parking podium. The building features 452 apartment units, 30,000 square feet of retail, and a 94,000-square-foot grocery store (Wegmans). The project includes a four-story, 45,000-square-foot structure that serves as a podium for an additional seven stories of office space. In this article we summarize everything that has signed on in the new development.

While the 2025 opening timeframe has been in the plans for a while regarding the upcoming Wegmans location, including signage stating that the grocery store is coming in 2025, the grocery store officially announced that Rockville will be one of three new Wegmans stores opening in 2025. It will be opening towards the end of the year.

Terra Gaucha, an authentic Churrascaria or Brazilian Steakhouse, will be located on the corner of Festival St. and Chapman Ave., off of Rockville Pike, behind the Wegmans grocery store. The restaurant has locations in Tampa and Jacksonville in Florida and recently opened a Connecticut restaurant in Stamford. An Indianapolis location is also coming soon.

Genki Wagyu House and Molly Tea have signed on take the space, on the corner of Festival Street and Rockville Pike, next to the upcoming Wegmans. Genki operates a Fairfax location known as Genki Izakaya in Fairfax, VA. A representative from the Fairfax restaurant let us know that the Rockville location is looking at an opening at some point in 2025. The representative has told us the Rockville location will offer all-you-can-eat Wagyu.

Molly Tea, originally from Shenzhen, China, is a Jasmine tea beverage franchise. “Inspired by the Four White Flowers of the East, we select the best mountain tea leaves and scent them with fresh flowers, with focus on Jasmine aromas and Chinese tea. Molly Tea aspires to explore all things Jasmine, allowing everyone to see the beauty of Chinese tea culture in their daily lives.” Molly Tea and Genki Wagyu House will occupy the space together.

ZiZa Kabob, which opened its first restaurant at  7351 Assateague Dr. in Jessup, has signed on to open its second location in the Twinbrook Quarter development. ZiZa is associated with Baltimore’s Maiwand Grill and Kabul Grill. The restaurant offers homemade Afghan family recipes.

Bonne Nail Bar has also signed on to open Chapman Ave. in between ZiZa Kabob and a still-vacant space. There are now just three vacant retail/restaurant spaces available in the development, including a 4,283 SF space on the corner of Chapman Ave and Halpine Rd.

The Milton apartments are now open and offering studio, 1-bedroom, 2-bedroom, and 3-bedroom apartments. Halpine Road was paved this past summer with newly constructed medians and plantings in place. Sidewalk surfacing and tree planting was completed after fiber optic work was done this past summer.
