Progress at Virginia’s First Buc-ee’s

It has been nearly a year since Buc-ee’s broke ground on its upcoming location in Rockingham County, VA. The store will be located at the exit 240 interchange along Interstate 81 (located near Harrisonburg, VA)- over 125 miles and about two hours from most parts of Montgomery County and is now aiming for a July 4th opening.

Plenty of progress has been made, as the frame of the actual convenience store is up with construction ongoing all around. More can be seen in this video by Rockingham County GIS. This will be the first Buc-ee’s location in Virginia, with an additional store planned for New Kent County.

According to the company, “Buc-ee’s Rockingham County will occupy 74,000 square feet and offer 120 fueling positions. Buc-ee’s favorites including Texas barbeque, homemade fudge, kolaches, Beaver Nuggets, jerky and fresh pastries will all be available. “Visitors will find thousands of snack, meal and drink options, as well as the same award-winning restrooms, cheap gas, quality products and excellent service that have won the hearts, trust and business of millions in the South for over 40 years.” A video of the progress from this past  summer can be seen here.
