Update: According to Montgomery County Police, “At approximately 11:30 a.m., 3rd District officers and Montgomery County Fire Rescue personnel were dispatched to the location for the report of a collision between a vehicle and a pedestrian. The preliminary investigation has revealed that an adult female was struck by a vehicle at the location and transported to an area hospital where she later died. The driver of the striking vehicle remained at the scene. This is an active and ongoing investigation. More information will be released, including the name of the decedent, following proper notification of next of kin.
Montgomery County Fire and Rescue Services (MCFRS) responded to a collision involving a pedestrian pinned under a vehicle in the Giant Food parking lot on Old Columbia Pike in Burtonsville on Thursday, December 26.
According to Chief Spokesperson for MCFRS Pete Piringer, the patient was extricated and is being evaluated for traumatic life-threatening injuries by emergency medical personnel. Multiple units, including rescue squads and EMS, assisted at the scene.
