The intersection of Potomac Tennis Lane and Falls Road in Potomac is closed as the Montgomery County Police Department (MCPD) is on the scene for a person in distress.
At 4:26am, MCPD shared a traffic advisory stating that, “Police activity has Potomac Tennis Lane and Falls Road shut down. There is a large police presence in the area. However, there is no threat to the community. Drivers are advised to seek an alternate route.”
A update was shared at 6:33am stating that, “Potomac Tennis Lane and Falls Road in Potomac remains closed. Officers are on scene for a person in distress. They are talking with the person in an effort to resolve the situation. There is no threat to the community. Drivers are advised to seek an alternate route.”
12:18pm Update: “Potomac Tennis Ln & Falls Rd remain closed as officers continue to assist a person in distress. They are actively working to resolve the situation safely. There is no threat to the community. Drivers are advised to seek alternate routes. Thank you for your patience.”
6:40pm Update: “Potomac Tennis Lane and Falls Road are back open. The subject is safe and in custody. Thank you for your patience during the extended road closure.”
