The Montgomery County Police Department (MCPD) stated that there will be enhanced patrols targeting drunk/drugged driving this evening.
Per MCPD: “MCPD takes dangerous driving seriously. There will be enhanced patrols targeting drunk/drugged driving this evening, as well as exhibition driving. Make smart choices—don’t drink and drive, and always plan a safe ride home. Let’s welcome the new year responsibly!”
3rd District MCPD Commander Jason Cokinos added “We will have a bunch of extra officers out tonight around Silver Spring. We have increased staffing tonight on our midnight patrol shift. We also will have extra officers detailed to be focused on any potential illegal car rallies and reckless/drunk driving. Keep It legal, stay safe, and enjoy the evening!”
