The National Weather Service (NWS) has released its first set of expected snowfall maps for the upcoming storm this Monday.
The maps show a relatively wide range of 3-8 inches of expected snowfall, depending on the area you’re in. DC is in a 4-7” zone, while most of Montgomery County is in the 3-8” zone (our best guess is that this range will tighten up as we move closer to the storm).
The “high end amount” shows a widespread 9-10” across most of Maryland and Northern Virginia. The “low end amount” has Montgomery County receiving 2 inches of snow. We expect a Winter Storm Watch to be issued tonight or tomorrow morning with a very good shot at a Winter Storm Warning being issued on Sunday as long as things don’t fall apart.
