A Winter Weather Advisory is in effect until 7pm Friday evening. The advisory has expanded to include additional counties.
In Maryland, Central and Southeast Montgomery and Northwest Montgomery Counties. In Virginia, Eastern Loudoun, Northern Fauquier, and Western Loudoun Counties. Snow accumulations up to one inch are expected.
Per the National Weather Service, “Plan on slippery road conditions. The hazardous conditions could impact the this evening’s commute. A burst of heavy snow showers will cause visibilities to be reduced to one-quarter mile at times along with a quick coating to an inch on roadways.
Be prepared for slippery roads. Slow down and use caution while driving. If you are going outside, watch your first few steps taken on stairs, sidewalks, and driveways. These surfaces could be icy and slippery, increasing your risk of a fall and injury.”
