Kings Dominion, a popular destination for thrill-seekers and families, will be retiring one of its classic attractions, The Berserker, ahead of the 2025 season, as reported by ABC8 (Richmond, VA).
Debuting in 1984, the ride was themed as a replica Viking ship, swinging riders in a pendulum motion before completing a full 360-degree loop and briefly suspending them upside down.
Last month, we reported that the Anaconda roller coaster at King’s Dominion had officially closed its doors after more than three decades of rides.
In July 2024, Cedar Fair, the owner of Kings Dominion, and Six Flags Entertainment Corporation merged into a single company. The combined entity operated 27 amusement parks, 15 water parks, and 9 resort properties across 17 states in the U.S., Canada, and Mexico. According to a press release, non-Six Flags parks, including Kings Dominion, retained their legacy branding, with no changes to park names planned or contemplated.
