An adult male was fatally shot in the 3900 block of Franklin Street in Kensington on January 13, 2025, with another adult male taken into custody.
According to the Montgomery County Police Department (MCPD), “On Monday, January 13, 2025, at approximately 5:40pm, 2nd District officers and Montgomery County Fire and Rescue responded to the location for the report of a shooting.
Upon arrival, officers located an adult male victim with a gunshot wound. The victim was pronounced dead at the scene. An adult male was taken into custody by officers.
The decedent has been transported to the Office of the Chief Medical Examiner in Baltimore, where an autopsy will be conducted to officially determine the cause and manner of death.
This is an active and ongoing investigation.”
