National Weather Service: Potential Winter Commuting Hazard

The National Weather Service (NWS) has released a “Hazardous Weather Outlook” for the entire I-95 corridor through central Maryland, northern Virginia, and DC.

Per the NWS: “Today and tonight snow showers could bring a coating of snow to area roadways this afternoon and evening. A potential winter commuting hazard statement is in effect for the evening commute.

Friday through Wednesday: There is a slight winter storm threat Sunday. If this threat materializes, travel disruptions are possible. Dangerously cold wind chills are likely at times Sunday night through Wednesday morning. Now is the time to take precautionary measures to ensure you, pets, livestock, and property are ready for the cold.”

If snow falls today, it will be a very light snow that may bring up to a coating of snow that could impact the afternoon/evening commute. This is not a major threat, just something to be cautious of while driving later today.
