Collision with Injury and Overturned Tractor-Trailer Shuts Down All Local Lanes on NB I-270

Severe Traffic Update: All travel lanes have been re-opened from the earlier traffic incident on I-270 northbound at Ext 4A (Montrose Road). Expect residual delays.

A multi-vehicle collision with injury involving an overturned tractor-trailer and diesel fuel spill on I-270 NB near Montrose Rd have led to significant delays on Tuesday morning.

According to Chief Spokesperson for MCFRS Pete Piringer, all local lanes and one right express lane are blocked, with traffic being diverted to the main and express lanes. Emergency crews are on the scene addressing the incident, and delays are confined to the immediate area with rubbernecking slowing southbound traffic.

Alert Montgomery issued the following at 7:44am: “Alert Montgomery – Severe Traffic Alert: Traffic incident blocks all northbound local lanes of I-270 at Exit 4A (Montrose Rd). This may persist through the remainder of the morning commute. Expect significant delays. Seek alternate route.”
