Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. Middle School (13737 Wisteria Dr. Germantown, MD) evacuated the building on Thursday morning due to a fire alarm. The school sent out a message assuring the community the students and staff are safe, but moved to Lake Seneca ES due to the low temperatures. Due to a failed water pipe, the school is without heat and water and the decision to close the school was made. Full communication from the school can be be seen below:

Due to a fire alarm sounding, MLK MS students and staff evacuated the building this morning.
Students and staff are SAFE but have been moved to Lake Seneca Elementary due to very low temperatures. Due to a failed water pipe, the school is without heat and water service; therefore, we need to close Martin Luther King Jr.
MS beginning at 10 AM. Buses will be provided to students. Staff will be on hand to assist parents who arrive to pick up their children.
