Montgomery County Fire and Rescue Services (MCFRS) responded to a house fire on Glen Ross Rd in Silver Spring around 6 p.m. on Sunday, with flames on the first floor and in a second-floor bedroom.
According to Chief Spokesperson for MCFRS Pete Piringer, a working smoke alarm, installed by MCFRS in the summer, alerted the occupant, who was transported with serious but non-life-threatening injuries. The cause remains under investigation, and one person has been displaced.
