The Gaithersburg Police Department (GBPD) have arrested 31-year-old Jovani Ramos in connection with a stabbing at Cancun Mexican Restaurant on December 26, 2024, charging him with attempted second-degree murder and multiple assault offenses, and he is currently being held without bond.
According to the GBPD, “Detectives from the Gaithersburg Police Department – Investigative Section have arrested 31-year-old Jovani Ramos of Gaithersburg, MD and charged him with attempted second-degree murder, assault first degree, assault second degree, and intoxicated endanger.
On December 26, 2024, at 7:33 p.m., police responded to the Cancun Mexican Restaurant located in the 100 block of E. Diamond Ave. for the report of a stabbing that just occurred. An unknown male suspect and victim were involved in a verbal argument that escalated into a physical altercation. The suspect then brandished a knife and cut the victim causing a laceration to his face. The victim was transported to an area hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.
During the investigation, Ramos was developed as a suspect where he was arrested and transported to the Montgomery County Detention Center. Ramos is currently held without bond.
