Tea-Do Replacement Signs On in Rockville

Tea-Do X Mochinut at 838 Rockville Pike enclosed permanently last October. The dual concept restaurant featured menus from chains Mochinut and Tea-Do Cafe. At the time a new business was promised and now we know that it will be Cuppa Tea.

A message posted on the door stated “Thank you for your patronage. We are currently closed and will transition to a new business. Stay tuned! Exciting things are coming soon!” A new sign states that Cuppa Tea, which recently closed at nearby 1112 Taft Street, will be moving into the space.

The shop offers Hong Kong-style milk tea and is a popular brand with over 800 locations worldwide. Cuppa Tea made its U.S. debut when it opened in late 2021 in New York’s Flushing and Queens and Prince George’s County’s College Park.

In addition to Hong Kong-style milk tea, Cuppa Tea has offered Taiwanese food like bento boxes, egg waffles, curry balls, and more. It’s unclear whether the upcoming location will include all offerings. The news of Cuppa Tea taking over the space was first reported by MoCo Today.
