Four Maryland Cities/Places in Top Ten of ‘Most Ethnically Diverse Cities in the Country’, Per Study

The personal-finance website WalletHub today released its report on 2025’s Most & Least Ethnically Diverse Cities, and four of the top ten “most ethnically diverse” cities/areas are in Montgomery County, Maryland,


To identify the most ethnically diverse places in America, WalletHub compared more than 500 of the largest U.S. cities across three key metrics: ethno-racial diversity, linguistic diversity and birthplace diversity.

Coming in ranked first is Germantown, which also domes in first in the ‘ethnoracial diversity’ subcategory and fifth in the ‘linguistic diversity’ subcategory. Gaithersburg comes in ranked third overall (second in the ‘linguistic diversity’ subcategory). Silver Spring is ranked fourth overall and Rockville comes in at number 9 overall.
