Markus Carter, 22, of Silver Spring, was sentenced in Montgomery County Circuit Court to 32 years in prison, suspending all but 12 years, plus five years of supervised probation, after pleading guilty to fentanyl and firearm-related charges, while also awaiting trial for a separate synthetic cannabinoid distribution case.
This stems from a February 2023 incident in which 20-year-old Markus Carter was stopped by Montgomery County Police for a traffic infraction, and during a search, officers discovered 250 suspected fentanyl pills, a loaded handgun, and over $1,100 in cash. A subsequent search at Carter’s residence uncovered an additional 1,800 suspected fentanyl pills
