Winter Storm Watch in Effect From 1pm Tuesday Until 7am Wednesday

A Winter Storm Watch is in effect from 1pm Tuesday afternoon until 7am Wednesday morning for portions of DC, central, northeast, northern, and southern
Maryland (including all of Montgomery County), and central and northern Virginia.

Per the National Weather Service, “Heavy snow possible. Total snow accumulations between 4 and
6 inches, with locally higher amounts possible. Plan on slippery road conditions. The hazardous conditions could impact the Tuesday evening and Wednesday morning commutes.

Precipitation begins as light snow Tuesday
afternoon. A steady snow follows Tuesday evening into Tuesday night, and the snow could be heavy at times. Additional wintry precipitation could continue into Wednesday morning.

Monitor the latest forecasts for updates on this situation. Persons should delay all travel if possible. If travel is absolutely necessary, drive with extreme caution and be prepared for sudden changes in visibility. Leave plenty of room between you and the
motorist ahead of you, and allow extra time to reach your destination. Avoid sudden braking or acceleration, and be especially cautious on hills or when making turns. Make sure your car is winterized and in good working order.”
