Montgomery County Fire and Rescue Services (MCFRS) responded to a structure fire in the 24500 block of Peachtree Rd, near Comus Rd in Hyattstown, on Tuesday afternoon in a non-hydrant area.
According to MCFRS Chief Spokesperson Pete Piringer, a heat lamp for a cat colony likely ignited nearby straw, causing approximately $20,000 in damage. The cats likely escaped, and no injuries were reported.
