Major Changes For Potential Wednesday/Thursday Snow Event

The National Weather Service still has most of the area under an “Elevated” snow risk for Wednesday, but has changed Thursday to a “Limited” threat risk as weather models continuing to show less snow associated with this event.

As recently as Friday, major snow was being discussed as a possibility but models have trended a bit south/southeast with those larger snow maps you may have seen being shared no longer being accurate.

The latest run of the Euro (European model) still shows significant weather for areas like Ocean City (10+ inches) while we are in the 1-4 inch range north of DC. The GFS also went further S/SE and shows less snow for our area.

As we’ve noted with every update, things can and likely will change with every model run. There is still plenty of wiggle room, though a major snowstorm is looking less likely with each run. We’ll continue to monitor and update you with any changes– tonight and tomorrow’s late morning/early afternoon runs will show a lot about where this is headed.
