Nonprofit affordable housing developer MHP announced earlier this month that it has exceeded its ‘Making Home Possible for All’ campaign goal, raising a total of $21.1 million.
In 2021, the Silver Spring-based organization began the bold campaign to double affordable housing by the end of the decade. Thanks to contributions by almost 8,000 donors, MHP is celebrating completion of a successful campaign. This major financial achievement positions the nonprofit to expand affordable housing and wraparound programs for residents.
The campaign’s theme – Making Home Possible for All – highlights the inclusive nature of MHP’s work and its commitment to serving people from a mosaic of backgrounds. From seniors to single adults to working couples with children, each MHP resident has their own story to tell.
Over the years, MHP’s strategic objectives have included rehabilitating, preserving, and building new affordable housing properties in strategic, transit-oriented locations in Montgomery County and beyond. This not only brings affordability to a market underserved by such offerings, but also positions residents within immediate reach of transportation, educational institutions, employment opportunities, grocery stores, and other valuable amenities.
MHP is committed to providing gold standard programs for its more than 5,000 residents. Along with its focus on expanding and preserving affordable housing, MHP also provides opportunities for its residents through its award-winning Community Life educational enrichment programs and targeted neighborhood outreach programs that serve residents facing challenges.
