In October we let you know that ZiZa Kabob, which opened its first restaurant at 7351 Assateague Dr. in Jessup, signed on to open its second location in the Twinbrook Quarter development that will feature the upcoming Wegmans in Rockville. Now, the restaurant says it expects to open in late 2025. Signage has gone up on the door of its upcoming location at 1675 Chapman Ave.
ZiZa is associated with Baltimore’s Maiwand Grill and Kabul Grill. The restaurant today shared, “We’re excited to introduce Ziza Kabob, your new go-to spot for authentic Afghan cuisine! Coming late 2025 to 1675 Chapman Avenue, Rockville, MD, near the new Wegmans, we can’t wait to serve you delicious, flame-grilled kabobs, rich stews, and flavorful rice dishes—all made with love and tradition.”
The restaurant offers homemade Afghan family recipes. Per its website, “After years of enjoying these wonderful dishes as a family, we decided it was time to share them with the city we call home. The key elements of Afghan Cuisine consist of rich, flavorful spices that draw influence from Afghanistan’s unique history and the surrounding countries; next is a high-quality and delicately handled diverse set of meats; and lastly is the flavorful and aromatic rice.” The full menu can be seen here.
ZiZa kabob will be joining Terra Gaucha, an authentic Churrascaria or Brazilian Steakhouse, and Genki Wagyu House and Molly Tea, which have all signed on at Twinbrook Quarter. Terra Gaucha will be located on the corner of Festival St. and Chapman Ave., off of Rockville Pike, while Genki Wagyu House and Molly Tea will be on the corner of Festival Street and Rockville Pike, next to the upcoming Wegmans.
