The Montgomery County Police Department (MCPD) has released additional details about the arrest of a juvenile male following Tuesday morning’s lockdown at Bethesda-Chevy Chase (BCC) High School.
According to MCPD, a BCC student reported to school administrators on February 25, 2025, that a male student had a gun on campus. The school was placed on lockdown at approximately 10:24 a.m., and Montgomery County Police were notified.
Officers identified the student in question, but he had left campus before the lockdown began. Police tracked him to a nearby residence, where the 15-year-old was taken into custody without incident. A black Airsoft gun was found in his bag.
The student has been charged with disruption of school activities, possession of a weapon on school property, and possession of a concealed weapon.
Last week the school was placed on a precautionary lockdown following reports of shots fired after a fight at a nearby park. The Maryland-National Capital Park Police arrested a juvenile and a 19-year-old male following that incident on firearm-related charges, including first-degree assault and reckless endangerment.
We will provide an update if additional verified information becomes available.
