Firefighters Rescue Unconscious Resident, Save Several Dogs

Montgomery County Fire  and Rescue Services (MCFRS) responded to a house in the 5000 block of Aurora Dr. in Kensington.

According to Chief Spokesperson for MCFRS Pete Piringer, firefighters arrived to find smoke and fire in the basement, with reports of a person trapped inside. Crews located and rescued an unconscious adult from the basement, who was transported with life-threatening injuries. Another occupant was also evacuated and transported with non-life-threatening injuries, while a third person self-rescued. Several dogs were also saved.

More than 65 firefighters responded, and the fire has been extinguished.
