The Rockville Police Department has recognized Corporal Ali Zeighani as its 2024 Officer of the Year!
Rockville Police shared the following on social media, “With over two decades of dedicated service, Cpl. Zeighani has proven to be a leader, mentor, and invaluable asset to RCPD. As a K9 handler specializing in explosive ordinance and firearm detection, he works tirelessly to ensure the K9 Unit remains in peak operational readiness while maintaining and training with his partner, Bolo, 24/7.
In 2024, Cpl. Zeighani stepped up once again, accepting reassignment to midnight patrol to meet the department’s needs—all while continuing to meet the demanding training mandates of a K9 team. Additionally, their role with Montgomery County’s SWAT Team highlights their dedication to public safety, responding to high-risk situations at a moment’s notice.
Beyond his operational duties, Cpl. Zeighani serves as a mentor, guiding new employees and ensuring they have the tools to succeed. His positive attitude, professionalism, and leadership make him a true role model for the department and the Rockville community.
